Terms & Conditions
1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By accessing or using flppit you agree to be bound by these terms. flppit is a marketplace platform that connects lenders and renters. We do not own, rent, or manage any listed items.
2. DEFINITIONS
“Platform” means the flppit website and any future mobile applications. “Lender” means a user who lists items for rent. “Renter” means a user who books items for rent. “Booking” means a confirmed rental arrangement between a lender and renter. “Handover” means the physical exchange of an item between parties.
3. ELIGIBILITY
You must be 18+ years old and a UAE resident to use flppit Lenders must verify their identity via Emirates ID before listing items. Store partners must hold a valid UAE trade licence.
4. USER ACCOUNTS
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. One account per person. Providing false information may result in suspension. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
5. LISTINGS & BOOKINGS
Lenders set their own prices and availability. flppit does not guarantee the accuracy of listing descriptions. Bookings are subject to lender approval (auto-confirmed after 2 hours). Cancellations more than 3 hours before pickup: no penalty. Cancellations less than 3 hours: recorded on profile. 3 late cancellations within 90 days: 7-day account suspension.
6. PAYMENTS
Platform payments are currently in development. Until platform payments launch, payment is arranged directly between lender and renter. flppit is not responsible for payment disputes arising from off-platform transactions. When platform payments launch, flppit charges a 15% commission to lenders and a 10% service fee to renters on P2P transactions.
7. SECURITY DEPOSITS
Lenders may require a security deposit held via card authorization. Deposits are released within 24 hours of confirmed return with no disputes. Deposits may be partially or fully retained to cover verified damage.
8. DAMAGE, LOSS & DISPUTES
Renters are responsible for items in their possession. Both parties must photograph items at handover and return. Disputes must be raised within 24 hours of return. For amounts under AED 1,000: flppit decision is final. For amounts over AED 1,000: insurance claim triggered (when available). Deliberate damage or theft will be reported to UAE authorities.
9. PROHIBITED ITEMS
No weapons, illegal substances, counterfeit goods, or hazardous materials. No items requiring special government permits unless the lender holds them. No vehicles without valid RTA registration and insurance.
10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All flppit branding, design, and code is owned by flppit User-generated content (photos, descriptions, reviews) is licensed to flppit for platform use but remains the creator’s property.
11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
flppit is a marketplace intermediary, not a party to rental transactions. We are not liable for item quality, condition, or availability. Our total liability is limited to the service fees collected on the transaction.
12. PRIVACY
Your use of flppit is subject to our Privacy Policy. See: /legal/privacy
13. GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Disputes shall first be resolved through flppit mediation, then through ODR@ADGM, and finally through UAE courts.
14. CHANGES TO TERMS
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
